Some examples are chemical processes in drilling fluid, battery production, process plants, flame extinguishing, in the smelter industry and as an additive in rotary smelting furnaces to prevent slag fire.
Salt for drilling fluid
This salt can be used for drilling mud, drilling fluid and oil drilling. The salt is a fine, refined and hygienic rock salt that is GMP + certified. GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practices and is a series of safeguards prepared for the production of products that directly affect human health. The measures are there to prevent the possibility of contamination at all stages from product preparation to distribution, and to increase the reliability of the product. The salt is easily soluble and is suitable as an additive in liquid. The salt must be stored in a dry, indoor place.
Salt for drilling fluid comes in 1000 kilos or 25 kilos bags. The bags are available for pickup at all our terminals. The salt can either be picked up by you, or we can transport it to you by car or boat.

Potassiumchloride (KCL) for the oil industry
Potassium chloride is used for drilling / drilling fluid in the oil recovery phase. KCLis a soluble salt that is an extremely effective slate stabilizer when drilling in water-sensitive objects such as clay and slate. Inhibition is provided through ion exchange; the potassium ion enters between the individual clayplatelets in the slate, so that they are held together, thus eliminating water from the drilling fluid. The salt is finely refined and should be stored dry indoors.
Potassium chloride comes in 1000 kilos or 25 kilos bags. The bags are ordered after consultation with one of our professionals at Saltimport. The salt can either be picked up by you, or we can transport it to you by car or boat.

Salt for the chemical industry
The salt is used in chemical processes as an additive in rotary melting furnaces to prevent slag fire. Slag is the waste from a smelting process to refine metals and it is difficult to extinguish if it starts to burn. How much salt you should use varies from material to material. Salt for the chemical industry can be used in future-oriented industries such as aluminum, ferroalloys, the mineral industry, refineries and battery production.
