A Milestone for the Company
The new terminal is located in Toftir, Faroe Islands, with a capacity of 5,000 tons of salt. We offer both bulk and packaged products to our customers, giving us a competitive advantage in the market.
A Strategic Decision
We have taken over the operation of the terminal from MJ Salt, which has had a long and solid history in the Faroe Islands. MJ Salt has been a reliable supplier of salt to the fisheries and agriculture sectors on the islands, and we look forward to continuing this collaboration. Our partnership with Thomsen ensures we have local expertise in place from day one. Managing Director Torhallur Thomsen has extensive experience in salt distribution.
By establishing ourselves in the Faroe Islands, we gain access to a new and exciting market, as well as a strategic location in the North Sea. We will be able to serve customers both locally and regionally from the terminal.
Focus on the Fishing Industry
Saltimport specializes in supplying salt to the fishing industry, which has high demands for quality, hygiene, and safety. We offer a wide range of salt products that meet various needs, such as preservation, salting, smoking, drying, and aging of fish. We also provide salt for aquaculture, which helps prevent diseases and parasites in fish farming.
We have extensive experience in supplying salt to the fishing industry in Norway, and we look forward to doing the same in the Faroe Islands. We will offer competitive prices, fast deliveries, and excellent customer service to our customers on the islands. We have already secured agreements with several local fish producers and hope to expand our customer base further in the future.
